This is an authentic old-man’s inner city drinking establishment, which is the antithesis of the flash trendy breed of superpub that developed around Dublin in the last few years. If you’re not a regular, it may take a number of visits to warm up the staff and clientele, but it’ll be worth your while.

Great pub!!! Going to Dublin only as part of the St. Patty’s crowd every year, this place is always a jump off. Good atmosphere, great staff, and good fun. It is impossible to sit in this pub and not get talking to tourists and locals alike. Even the staff will share a laugh with you if its not too busy. If there are any major sporting events, esp. gaelic football or rugby, this place is where you want to be. Any sporting event adds a new level of excitement and I was lucky enough to be there for the end of the six nations rugby championship where it came down to the last score to determine if ireland would win it all.
